    Ce recueil rassemble 232 partitions de musique des Highlands et des îles écossaises, collectées par un contemporain de Walter Scott, Capitaine Simon Fraser. Ce violoniste et compositeur recueillit la plupart de ces airs auprès de ses grands-parents, une petite partie seule provient de sa création. Cet ouvrage, publié à titre posthume en 1874, reste toujours une référence pour la musique celtique actuelle.
